The other red meat
At Ennis, I have become friends with the international sales director, Gerhardt. Recently he came back from a multi-country trip in Africa. And he brought back some biltong which is basically a type of jerky from South Africa, but made with native animals. This particular biltong was made with Kudu.
Apparently, I mentioned that I would basically try almost anything once. So, Gerhardt brought some Kudu biltong for me to enjoy. And naturally, I tried it.
It was delicious. Moister than most jerky, but with a nice spicy and peppery flavor. I ate the whole bag. It ruined my dinner. But quite nice.
