Oh Buster, tell me what's real

The campaign to rid children's television of any hint that there just may be homosexuals out there somewhere, has just gotten slightly more ridiculous. The new Secretary of Education has critiqued PBS for an episode of "Postcards from Buster" which shows two lesbian couples in Vermont. PBS has decided not to distribute the episode stating " our decision was based on the fact that we recognize this is a sensitive issue, and we wanted to make sure that parents had an opportunity to introduce this subject to their children in their own time." Click here for story.

I know for a fact that gay couples actually live in Vermont. And I'm not sure how their existence is a sensitive issue. I doubt the fact that there is a bunny rabbit who dresses in a polo shirt and khakis going around the world taking pictures. I understand how Buster's existence could cause major questions of faith upon the young impressionable minds who watch public television.

Yes, PBS still shows a telletubby with a purse? What is this world coming to!?!?!? My young, sensative, impressionable mind just can't handle all this conservative crap. I guess I'll just go back to playing Grand Theft Auto on my Xbox.

Once you start analyzing children's television for hidden meanings you can find all sorts of fun stuff. Dora teaches that its OK to just run off on your own and play with wild animals. Jimmy Neutron tells us all that its good to be smart, but don't try to use that intelligence in creative ways.

Also, I'm not sure that Tinky-winky is gay. But I'm pretty sure that Po is a communist. And all the kids on Jimmy Neutron are probably taking some form of steroid, just look at those huge heads and hands.

Of course, it would be much better to not show our children what is part of reality. Then they can grow up to be sheltered, intolerent and disrespecting adults. We definitely need a lot more of those in our society. Of course, we could let the kids watch the Boo Bahs instead. They are such an educational show. Why are they on tv again?! The sarcasm cup has runneth over with this reply.

Ah yes, the Boo Bah's. The bizarre alien creatures who dance around, fart, and tell stories about strange humans. Very educational. Let's keep it.

Buster the Bunny talking about Vermont? NOOOOOOOOOOO!
